COUNTING MY BLESSINGS
Today I sat and mused upon the grief and woe and misery
And pain and strife and sorrow I thought that life had dealt to me.
As I sat and wondered why such things had been
These words of old came to me once again.
“I had the blues because I had no shoes
Until upon the street I met a man that had no feet”.
So then I thought how small my grief and pain
To those who in the war were slain
And just how small my misery
To what my Lord had suffered on the tree.
So now when grief and misery black my day I merely bow my head and start to pray .
